Just a memory of a fun or was it frightening time!?

Mum never did learn to drive but Dad did try a couple of times. On this particular occasion Dad picked the middle of a camping site field. It was pretty empty which if I recall was a good thing. Me and Jeff in the back of the car ( a Morris Oxford or was it Cambridge?). Dad talked mum through putting in the clutch, selecting first gear and then easing u the clutch....a which point we began to speed across the field as Mum shrieked, Dad coached, well I think it was coaching; to the uninitiated it may have sounded like shouting! Whilst Jeff and I sat in the back laughing! Now I think of it we weren't frightened. It was jsut funny.

Dad tried a few more times over the years but I think eventually there was a joint agreement to give it up as a bad job!

Many MANY happy holidays camping and staying with friends in Wales. Good memories.
